Determinants of Rice Farmers’ Investment in Value Addition and Its Effect on Poverty Status in Kebbi State, Nigeria

The study examined investment of rice value addition activities among farmers in Kebbi State, Nigeria. Data used for the were collected with aid structured questionnaire administered to 123 randomly selected three local government areas state. was analyzed using Foster Greek Thoerboeck (FGT) poverty index and logit regression technique. results showed that status high, as 58.3% poor 42.7% non poor. result analysis marginal effects income from parboiling, winnowing, drying, destoning, bagging negative statistically significant related farmer’s at 1% level. It concluded farmers’ should be promoted State. High cost labour (81.0%), marketing information (75.6%) inadequate credit (73.1%) most critical constraints limiting engaging activities. wasrecommended cooperatives form collaboration extension agent make aware benefits those already investing use modern method processing instead traditional practices which help increase their income.
